Twenty-first-century skills for all
A Cultivated Mindset plans true youth programs for grade school children so that they can move and innovate between media and spaces for media. Our programs help develop knowledge and skills through participation with technology. We will challenge Digital Media and Technology to help schools face a number of challenges as they weigh the risks and benefits of digital media and technology for the youth, all while engaging the entrepreneur mindset.
Participation, production, and co-creation
Many schools and other organizations are struggling with how best to provide a technological infrastructure (hardware, software, and networking) for young people and to support youth-driven digital media practices. Thinker's Lab helps with those issues.
Design Thinking, Tech & Entrepreneurship
Students of all ages have need all media ecologies that include multiple media and technology in differing formats, locations, and combinations, including print, traditional media, and new media, as well as mobile and Web-based technologies. We cover it all at some point during the class.
Focus Areas that Matter
Digital media and technology are now culturally and economically powerful parts of contemporary middle-class American childhoods. Students of all ages MUST have media ecologies that include multiple media and technology in differing formats, locations, and combinations, including print, traditional media, and new media (digital media, including video games, software, and online sites), as well as mobile and Web-based technologies.
Thinker’s Lab is powered by Jump-In. Jump-In is a social ecosystem focused on changing education as we know it today. Through an innovative approach in which students of tomorrow are equipped to lead, collaborate, and drive their own learning in STEAM and are rewarded for doing so.
A Cultivated Mindset uses the formal method for practical, creative resolution of problems and creation of solutions called design thinking. This method helps each program have the intent of an improved future result. In this regard it is a form of solution-based, or solution-focused thinking – starting with a goal (a better future situation) instead of solving a specific problem. By considering both present and future conditions and parameters of a giving problem.
Being a solution firm, it would only be fitting to infuse technology at some point into every program. A Cultivated Mindset is focus on helping each participant create something which technology focus, whether it is a website, mobile application or each future product design for a non existing hardware. We hold a certain allegiance to a particular technology but we can’t escape it in our daily lives therefore participants will learn how to understand and use it to help them succeed.
Entrepreneurship is a key building block in society and the local communities that we live in. Each our programs will have a core principle on bringing what is learn from design thinking and technology and how it relates to the business world. Our programs help students learn the difference between economic and social change within the boundaries of entrepreneurship. Helping students understand basic entrepreneurship skills helps them to trust a process in everyday life.
