Based in Sapporo, Japan South 2 West 8 have created another exceptional line for there Fall/Winter 2010 Collection. A label largely influenced by there harsh weather cycle in the area combined with a unique philosophy of design that defined by a refined approach.

In stark contrast to the Damir Domma post we just made is the new lookbook from Nepenthes founder Keizo Shimizu’s South 2 West 8 label.  A heavily Americana influenced, outdoors, hunting and fishing aesthetic, it contains the now familiar checks, tweeds, coduroy, native american patters, etc, etc, etc…….  There are some fantastic individual pieces in here, and I like how they have overdone the look for humorous effect.  However, what I find most interesting about this collection is the way it progress from very traditional, early 1900s influenced styles to more modern hi-tech items offering a real mix of heritage pieces that we rarely see from these types of labels.
